noseinabookpeninmyhand asked: Regarding your dissertation question... I jacked up my response on my iphone... anyway... I did my Ph.D. on postmodern picturebooks. It was a lot of fun. My advice... go with whatever you talk about when people ask you what you are studying in school. :)
Good Ph.D. title and advice! From talking to my family/friends over the course of the day, I’m being recommended to go in the direction of discussing the future of the book etc which (despite being very relevant and all) I know I’d be more passionate about the visual aspects/art of the book, rather than getting into mainly theoretical arguments, or discussion of digital book formats/dissemination of information…that being said, I know I’d learn a thing or two! Got to be careful not either bore or corner myself, especially as the bibliography is a min of 20+ books x
