I would just like to say a big thank you to Laura West (of Supabinda) for sending me this gorgeous little DIY Bookbinding Kit, which I enjoyed assembling earlier today. The introductory kit provides beginners with basic binding tools and instructions, which are then cleverly bound as a nifty little keepsake. I love the embossed cover!
I just wanted to say a belated thank you to everyone who subscribes to ‘Fuck Yeah, Book Arts!’, as of last week we have hit an overwhelming 50,000 followers! Once again, I’d like to thank everyone for their enthusiasm and goodwill towards the blog, and for making the task of running it so enjoyable and worthwhile.
(I’d considered making a video of some sort to say cheers in person, but I think my cat Lila’s piercing stare and party hat ensemble speaks volumes!) x
Thank you to goldthread, sweetawkwardboy, everysinglesecondtotherapture, laughclown, molly-belle and all the grey-faced anons for your incredibly warm wishes x
Thanks again for all of the wonderful recommendations everybody :)
(The Strand was so amazing, I nearly needed a second suitcase coming home!)
1. Hannesqs, Sinatrabluee, Emarullz, Improbablydrinkingcoffee: Thank you so much you guys! Also, good to know there’s 287+ pages at this stage, woah!
2. Danyellah: Oh my god- I can’t believe you got a book binding tattoo that’s amazing! Extremely unique (I’ve never seen one like it before), shows some serious dedication to book arts! x
3. Anon: I don’t believe you need to have a tumblr to submit work (as you can still submit photos/links without them being on tumblr), but if you submit work without a tumblr account, the submission will show me your email address instead. Hope that helps!
Although I do read (and really appreciate) everything sent into me, I don’t always have time to respond right away. Here’s a few messages I received over the past while, sorry for being so slow to reply!
1. Emma: That’s so flattering thank you- I’d looove to see some pics of your ‘Book Arts Wall’ if you didn’t mind sending me a snap or two! :)
2. Iris: Unfortunately I’m not sure if Malika Favre’s wonderful Karma Sutra cover design is available for purchase anywhere, but I’ve posted this here incase any of my followers might know.
3+4: Thank you jswagforthewin and tellmetaradiddles, will do!
5. Nicki: Hahaha amazing! I left school not too long ago, and I have to admit I always loved it when my teachers let their guard down and swore or shared their personal interests with us, because when you’re a young student you often forget that teachers are people too! Thanks for encouraging your students to check my site out :)
6. Anon: Sorry, but I don’t give out my messenger to strangers… However if you really need to get into contact with me my work email is: xsweetvisagex@gmail.com.
7: Anon: Book artists and sculpters? No problem, go through my archive or check out this post where I list a few book artist’s names :) x
So that just happened.
Normally I’d write a gushy thank you to everyone, but perhaps tonight this gif will suffice…

Feel the love guys x
Thank you all so much :D (Also I’m so sorry for being so slow when replying to asks/submissions. My inbox is over-flowing at the moment, there’s stuff buried away in there which hasn’t been replied to/even looked at for several months! However, I really do appreciate everyones enthusiasm, and hope I have not offended anyone!)
As for my favorite books dodochido and cornerofnonsense, I have numerous favorites, but this old post here kinda answers your questions :) x
(Sorry for being slow to reply folks, the inbox is a tad overflowing at the moment!)
1. Cwocwo: So glad to hear the blog has helped with your project! Do upload pics of your clay books, I’d love to take a gander :)
2. Anon: You are doing terrible, dirty things to my ego!
3+4. Pressingwildflowers & Talkinggibberish: Thank you both! :D
5. Acrilika: You might think twice if you saw me right now… I’m wearing a snuggie, for reals.
Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend :)
Seriously feeling the love here guys :) x
