DIY Botanical Press (by abeautifulmess)
Inspired by botanical prints and natural history illustrations, documenting your environment of plants, flowers and leaves becomes a personal catalog of your backyard. Nature presses are perfect for all seasons, but we’re partial to autumn because it’s the time of year when color fires through the countryside and gives you a different impression each day as winter takes over.

Modern Nature Notebooks (by Martha Stewart)
It’s the 21st-century equivalent of a pressed-flower book: Instead of picking and pressing wildflowers, which depletes the local flora and is illegal in some places, take a snapshot with your smartphone. The Poladroid software will give photos a vintage feel. Then print and glue them in a notebook alongside your children’s sketches of nature.
Scanning in pressings of flowers might also create a nice effect :) (I’m from Ireland, were we have an abundance of common wildflowers, so I personally don’t feel too bad about picking them!)
Poem printed using a Chandler Price press on handmade paper containing wild flowers, flax and abaca. Made in conjunction with “A Memory and a Dream” installation.
