The LA Public Library’s 1928 bookmobile for the sick. Kind of like a book wheelbarrow that tilts.
Miserable. Tell me happy stories? Suggest any interesting paper/book/art blogs?
Oh wow you guys, thank you so much for the flood of warm messages, I’m really touched! It really has been some of the toughest weeks ever for my family and I with a lot of scares, but I’m very glad to report that I was released from hospital just a few hours ago, hopefully this time for good (third time lucky?!)
All I can say is, despite how scary and painful it’s been, I’ve come out of this a much stronger and capable person. The love and kindness I’ve received from my family, my friends, and indeed my followers, has truly helped with my recovery. I wish you all well x
Anonymous asked: I hope you're doing fine now.
I am sad to report that after finally being released from the hospital only one day, at 2am Saturday night I woke up hemorrhaging heavily again. I blacked out and an ambulance was called, and here I am back at hospital :( I’m going to be here another week or so, as I can bleed again at any given time, but thankfully I have my laptop again to keep me happy and distracted! Thank you for your concern x
Seriously feeling the love here guys :) x
Turns out I’m in the 5% of post-tonsillectomy patients who suffer from severe hemorrhaging, so spent the last two nights gushing blood from my mouth like a tap that won’t turn off. Never been so scared in all my life. Thankfully I was rushed to theatre in time, and the arteries in my throat were causterized. My nurse today is called Carla, so I’m still hoping my day might turn into an episode of Scrubs (no such luck!) Anyhow, just letting you all know as to why blog updates will be slow, and that I won’t be checking my mail/submissions as often as normal.
Thanks again for those sending me kind messages, I cannot wait to emerge from this stronger then ever before :) x
