!!!Thank You!!! by Benjamin Reynaert
A cover-less book structure bound with a year’s worth of receipts. Each receipt page has been painted with gel medium to preserve the state of decay and fade from the printing. Can be hung on wall surfaces. One-of-a-kind artist book.
Boarding School is a brother sister team from Seattle & Maine. We find recycled wood and create beautiful finished boards which are bound into journals, books, and albums (via).

For all you nicotine fiends like myself…
This one of a kind blank book is created from real, vintage, Bingo cards and reprinted illustrations from a vintage children’s primer.
It is filled with a variety of fun papers to write or draw on. This includes 100% recycled banana and cigar papers, 30% recycled Strathmore drawing paper, a selection of ruled and grided papers, as well as vintage papers from discarded library books. The cover is lined with a “this book belongs to” page, and also includes a little library pocket for tucking treasures into.

These would be really simple to make using a basic pamphlet stitch!
Handmade Upcycled Sketchbooks by Elva Carri
“At Old Book Hides, I make spiral-bound notebooks and sketchbooks out of old hardbacks. I love books, although I was never a great reader. Now I get to go secondhand book shopping all the time, and judge them by their beautiful covers. In case you’re worried, the innards that contain the stories, information and pictures, are kept safely to be used again in future projects. Additionally, I can also custom make them if you find your own cover, and when you run out of pages, I even provide a refill service.”
DIY Vintage Postcard Calendar Journal (by designsponge)
Growing up, I kept a daily journal. I always enjoyed looking back at previous entries to see what had changed over the course of a year. These days, I can’t seem to find the time to journal, but I do try to jot down a little note from each day on my perpetual calendar/journal. The idea is very simple — flip to the current date and at the end of the day, write down something that happened. Some days it is big things like “Annie took her first steps.” Other days it is small, like “needed more than one cup of coffee this morning.”
The first year is the least rewarding, but I imagine that in 10 years, it will be a daily treat to be reminded of what happened on that date over the last decade. I think these would make great gifts this season, not only for adults but also for older kids, baby showers, retirement parties, wedding showers and more. Enjoy!
